It's a little difficult as it's an outdoor facility
I was told that I can't do it as of July 2020
By car, about 1 hour using high speed. If you think about Okinawa's transportation, car rental is only.
I watched the news that Hymenozula blooms by this time, it is blooming at a private home in Okinawa. Southeast Botanical Garden is a trap Would you like to call me directly?
I don't know that it was worth it for the price, but it is a lovely Botanical Garden
Love to come here. Be sure to get the season pass. It is well worth the price for such a nice place.
A bit pricy but a really cool stop. Interactive area for kids to see unique animals and feed them.
This Garden has a more traditional layout, similar to an English garden. Bits of it seemed a little bit not kept up, but it is still really lovely. I guess you could say it's under maintenance. Good for Children because there are lots of little petting zoos
Very pretty and easy walk. Dawn was nice as the lights came on towards the end of our visit. Great place for photos!
Definitely worth a visit here to see the cute monkeys, guinea pigs, and other animals. Plus, the gardens are gorgeous! They also have beautiful lights during the holiday season, and people line up to see them!
If you like nature, plants, gardening, etc. Is a good place to relax.Has a fishing spot. Pay only 100円 for fishing baits. Of course must return the fish back to lake. Fishin until 17:00On pictures you can see a pool. Ther's no pool. that picture was made on special event days.In the night the led lights makes the environment beautiful, specially on end of year for winter and xmas.Craftwork for children and house on tree top for kids.On summer bring sun block protection and umbrellas. Its very hot.
Great place to just walk around and forget the stresses of life. Beautiful and relaxing are the two things that come to mind the most when here. This is also a great place to take photos. Never nothing to take a picture of. Overall, great place to visit. Well worth the trip.
Great place to spend a day! Totally love this botanical garden even though I can see some decrepit parts to the facilities. Staffs are all friendly and greets us everywhere in the garden. Credit cards available for admission fee. I recommend you to bring some yen if you wanna try workshop, fishing and feed animals, you can only use yen for these activities. Gerrato that you can buy at the souvenir shop tastes good :) 1 flavor cup Y400, corn Y450.
Stunning garden. Most beautiful flowers, trees, palms. And spiders :-)
Beautiful place for a walk and enjoy the landscape. I did not enjoy the animals. It is kind of sad, I don't quite understand why they have animals, specially monkeys. There is also a restaurant with beautiful views of the garden. The price is very reasonable for lunch, buffet style, and the food is good but the service is not that good specially for foreigners.
You can get through the park in 1-2 hours depending on your walking speed. Great picture opportunities around every corner. Get the annual pass so you can take your kids again and burn some calories.
If you like nature, you should appreciate this place. Not really big and takes about an hour to walk through the two areas. Alexander palm trees are cool and the Za baobab treelasts for a 1000 years. Tons of lotus plants in the pond. Discounted $13 tickets through ITT on base. Ticket for an adult is 1800 yen at the gardens which is kind of high for this garden.
So much to see! My wife and I love botanical gardens and this one did not disappoint us. There's a calm about this place that just takes over as soon as you enter. It's fairly inexpensive as well, $15/person. Cheaper than what we're used to in the states.
It's a pretty nice and calming experience. Plenty of nature and uncommon animals
Great place to walk around. Is more than just looking at plants. There are food places and a shop you can go into. The is an area that has animals and monkeys that you can play with. You can bring kids here and they would be decently entertained. It gets hot walking around so go during the cooler hours. There aren’t a lot of bugs but I would still put on some because I did get a couple of bug bites.
Since it's changed management a few years ago the park has really gone down hill. There are some beautiful flowers during the summer but not worth the high entrance cost more than once. Really wish they would put some more time and effort into the park.
I've been to the gardens three times now. Once in the summer with my girlfriends, the second time I took my husband and daughter to see the amazing Christmas lights, and today I went by myself to explore my new love for photography. Southeast Botanical gardens is a must see for anyone visiting Okinawa. It's absolutely beautiful in all seasons. They have all sorts of different festivals and events year round. The prices are fair and definitely worth the experience. They have a petting zoo for kids, food and drink vendors, and a beautiful restaurant. It's easy to get too with google maps, and you can easily spend the whole day exploring. They even have romantic river cruises on the other side of the park. It's a perfect destination for any occasion.
I took my parents here. They say, and I agree, it is the best botanical garden we have ever seen. I have also enjoyed the restaurant there for an office function. Very peaceful. Very good and interesting buffet.
Love visiting The South East botanical gardens. They have amazing prices in my opinion. For a little over 1400 yen you have access to a lot of beautiful sights and animals. I believe they have a annual pass option as well for a little over 3600 yen ( the price of two and a half visits). Great deal if you ask me.
Great Botanical Garden. At Christmas they put up a great display of lights! Must go see.
Considering there’s not many light shows in Okinawa, this place was fantastic. It’s mainly sightseeing with a couple things to do such as watching performers, feeding fish/ducks, and eating at the Restraunt. The food was very diverse and tasted great.
We went here before Christmas and the place is really cool especially at night. I just don't know if they still have the same set up, so if you are a person who loves lights and flowers, you might consider.
The staff is very friendly and you can tell they take great care of their animals! The gardens were astonishing, as well. I loved seeing the ponds and fountains throughout the park. I would definitely recommend buying a season pass if you live in the area as the gardens often host many events throughout the year. Be sure to feed the monkeys if you go!
“Great mini zoo areaâ€Great gardens to stroll around and enjoy the beautiful ferns, palms etc. I love to see these types of places when I visit Japan as there seems to be a lot of very special care and attention placed into the care and maintenance of the gardens. We then went into the next area and discovered the little zoo area, there were monkeys, guinea pigs, mice, turtles, hens and a few more. The creatures were great to interact with, ideal place to take the kids.
Amazing Scenery and best place for kids to play
Visited on a Saturday in early December. Gardens are nice to walk around, but not sure that it could be classed as a botanical garden - not a diverse range of plants. The caged animals were a bit sad. The ticket price is slightly high for what's available. The best part was the buffet lunch. If you get a table at the window, you'll have a lovely view while dining.
Nice botanical gardens. Good place for an afternoon with the kids since they have a small petting zoo and several kid oriented activities. Lots of stops along the trails to sit and just enjoy the view.
Staff is friendly and the gardens are pretty well maintained. Do wish they had some more exhibits like some orchid greenhouses or something as there is a lot of sparce open green space. Worth one time visit at least but not sure if it’s worth a second trip.
A great getaway from the Okinawa city life. Go feed the animals, ducks, fish, and just to walk around. They have their yearly illuminations which is a great time for night strolls and to practice your photography skills if you’re into that type of thing. There is a Chinese restaurant on the premise as well and their little food stand. A great get away for kids. Be on the lookout as well, they have had events which included water play for kids. Definitely recommend annual passes.
Not too sure people are feeling that it is dated and rundown? We just visited and the grounds are well maintained and gorgeous. Easily one of the best botanical gardens that I have been to. The animals have shade and look well fed and happy, there is also a baby monkey that was just born in July. ¥1500 adult admission does not include tram ride, but the team ride can be easily added the to ticket. Next time we visit, I will definitely take advantage of their buffet, it looked amazing. Not much to eat if you don't do the sit down option but you are more than welcome to bring your own cooler, which is nice. We enjoyed the pool area, which was just seasonal and really up they decide to bring that back next year. It was perfect!!! Highly recommend the botanical gardens for 1.5-2 hours of fun.
The guide named Daniel is considered the best one of the Garden!!! He knows all about brazilian plants and also other ones. He is a good reference!!! Recomend him!!
Awesome botanical garden. Very nice area to walk around and see lots of plants and trees. They also have some animals.
A beautiful place to take the family. Kids would love feeding the fish and ducks.
Beautiful garden, especially the water garden which has 3 nicely landscaped ponds. Animal lovers will enjoy feeding guinea pigs, rabbits etc. there.
We went for their Christmas light display and the kids loved it. Children under 6 were free and 1,800yen for adults. Well worth the money.
Beautiful.
I really love it here, very beautiful place to take your family and walk around. Lots of flowers and they also have some animals you can pet/feed.
Beautiful!! There are several types of plants and even animals that you can play with and feed. Its a nice place to visit during Dec-Jan when lights are on display.
Loved our experience here. My husband was blown out of his mind with all the lights. Great time to go is right before sunset. Cute play area for kids and the gelato was good. I recommend going for those who have kids or just wanna go out for a date.
What a beautiful place. We went to one gate where's all the lights we didn't know their is 2nd gate. But the one park this place my kids already tired for walking and keep going back. We enjoyed the steam buns and kebabs. Kids love the lights and the tree house. We definitely coming back again to check out everything we didn't seen. Enjoyed and explore more 😊
So beautiful!! The minute we walked in we were amazed. It's like a hidden oasis. Definitely coming back on a cooler day because it was really hot with all of the walking. Oh and there's cool animals just randomly there lol!
Beautiful place, about ~10$ to enter
Want to enjoy a great sunny day here plenty to enjoy. Bring a good camera lots of plants here. They change things for some seasons. Enjoy close to KAFB outside of gate 3. Quick place to knock out while you are here in Oki. Vic Out!
Beautiful Space in the City!Beautiful plants and flowers. They have a petting zoo area and multiple places to feed different animals. Got to feed some monkeys - which was really cool!
Awesome night display. Can't wait to get back when everything is in bloom.
